Plot:
I Am Legend 2 picks up several years after the devastating events of the original film. Dr. Robert Neville (Will Smith) sacrificed himself to save humanity, and in doing so, discovered a cure for the virus that ravaged the world. While Neville’s death marked a turning point in the battle against the “Darkseekers,” the fight for survival is far from over.
In a post-apocalyptic world, society has begun to rebuild, with survivors trying to live in a world that is still haunted by the remnants of the virus. The cure Neville created has spread, but it’s far from a perfect solution. Some survivors still struggle with the lingering effects of the virus, and a new strain, far more aggressive and intelligent than its predecessors, begins to emerge. These new infected beings are not only faster but also more organized, resembling a new, terrifying form of civilization.
Enter a new protagonist, a survivor named Ethan (Michael B. Jordan), a former soldier who lost everything to the virus. Ethan stumbles upon a remote colony of survivors who have been living with the belief that they are the last bastion of humanity. The colony is led by a fierce, intelligent leader (Idris Elba), but their fragile peace is shattered when they encounter a new, powerful faction of the infected. These “evolved” Darkseekers have an uncanny ability to communicate and strategize, making them more dangerous than ever before.
As Ethan joins forces with this group to find a way to combat the new threat, they uncover the horrifying truth about the virus’ mutation and the existence of a larger, hidden population of survivors who are not infected.
