Seven-Year-Old Finley Edwards Inspires Many With Her Courageous Fight and Unbreakable Spirit

A young girl from Gadsden, Alabama is receiving an outpouring of love and support as she continues a brave fight for her health.

Seven-year-old Finley Edwards has been courageously battling B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a serious blood illness that affects many children around the world. Her journey began a little over a year ago when she first started experiencing frequent headaches. After medical tests, doctors confirmed the diagnosis on February 27, 2025.

According to her mother, Becca Edwards, Finley began chemotherapy treatment the very next day. Becca and her husband Adam are parents to four children under the age of 10, and they have remained by Finley’s side throughout every step of this challenging journey.

Recently, Finley has been receiving care at Children’s of Alabama, where doctors are closely monitoring her condition after she developed a high fever, low oxygen levels, and pancreatitis. She has been at the hospital since February 7 while doctors continue to run tests to better understand what is happening.

For now, Finley is being supported by advanced medical equipment while her care team works to stabilize her condition. Her mother has asked the community to keep Finley in their thoughts and prayers as the family waits for answers.

Across social media, messages of encouragement have been pouring in for the Edwards family, with many people sending love to the young girl described by her family as strong, kind, and full of light.

As Finley continues her fight, supporters are reminding the family that they are not alone.
