Abandoned by His Mother as a Baby, Isa Struggles to Fight a Tumor Amid Economic Difficulties

In a small and humble home, a three-year-old boy named Isa is fighting a battle that no child should ever have to face alone. Since infancy, Isa has been living with a serious medical condition that causes large growths on his small body, making everyday movements painful and difficult. Yet beyond the physical struggle, Isa’s story is also one of separation, resilience, and a father’s unwavering love.
Isa’s father recalls the heartbreaking moment when his son cried out for the person he missed most.
“Once, when the illness became very painful, Isa kept calling for his mother,” his father said softly. “He looked around the room and even outside the house, hoping she would come back. But she has been gone since he was just three months old.”

According to the father, Isa’s mother left shortly after doctors first discovered the child’s condition when he was still an infant. Since then, the young boy has been raised solely by his father, who works long days doing manual labor at a fishing farm.
Isa’s health challenges began shortly after birth. His father remembers that the baby often cried, became weak, and sometimes developed high fevers. One day, he noticed a small lump on Isa’s back, about the size of a baseball. At first, he believed it might simply be an insect bite or a temporary swelling.
“I thought maybe it was something minor,” the father explained. “I applied some oil and hoped it would go away.”
But the swelling did not disappear. Instead, it continued to grow over time.
Soon, the growth became larger and more uncomfortable for the child. Isa would groan and cry as the area became increasingly sensitive. Additional swelling later appeared along the side of his abdomen, and the condition slowly spread.

Today, Isa’s father says the child often struggles with simple activities that other children enjoy. While many three-year-olds are beginning to explore drawing, writing, and playful learning, Isa spends most of his time trying to cope with discomfort and fatigue.
Despite these challenges, Isa’s father continues to care for him with deep dedication, even as financial hardship makes the situation more difficult.
Working as a laborer on a fishing farm, he earns about 20,000 rupiah per day — a small amount that barely covers basic necessities. Sometimes, he says, even buying milk for Isa becomes a challenge.
“Seeing him in discomfort breaks my heart,” the father said. “He is still so small and doesn’t understand why his body feels this way.”
For several years, Isa’s treatment options have been limited. Without access to specialized medical care, the family has mostly relied on traditional remedies to ease the child’s discomfort. However, medical professionals have explained that Isa will need more advanced treatment to manage the condition and prevent further complications.

Doctors have suggested that chemotherapy may help slow the growth and protect other parts of his body from being affected. Without proper treatment, the illness could continue to spread and create serious health risks.
Isa’s story highlights the struggles that many families face when serious illness meets financial hardship. Access to healthcare, stable income, and family support can make a life-changing difference for children like him.
Yet even in the face of these difficulties, Isa continues to show remarkable courage. Though his body is fragile, his spirit remains strong. He still smiles at simple things — a toy, a drawing, or the presence of his father beside him.
For his father, there is only one wish.
“I just hope my child can grow up healthy,” he said quietly. “He deserves to see the world and live like other children.”
Isa’s journey is far from over, but his story is already touching hearts — a reminder of the strength that can exist even in the smallest among us.
