5 Month Old John Macharia Faces Urgent Surgery as Rare Condition Rapidly Worsens

A five-month-old baby boy is in urgent need of medical care as a rare condition continues to grow and threaten his health.

Baby John Macharia, from Subukia in Nakuru County, was born with Cystic Lymphangioma, a condition that causes abnormal swelling due to fluid-filled growths under the skin. At birth, the swelling was small, giving his family hope that it could be managed.

But in just a few months, everything changed.

The swelling has grown rapidly and continues to increase in size, raising serious concerns for his health and future. Doctors have now advised that John urgently needs surgery to prevent further complications and give him a chance at a normal life.

For his parents, every day is filled with worry.

“We never imagined it would grow this fast,” his mother shared softly. “Every time we look at him, we just wish we could take his pain away.”

His father added, “He’s such a strong little boy. He still smiles at us, and that gives us hope. We just want him to be healthy and live like other children.”

Despite their love and determination, the cost of the surgery and ongoing medical care is far beyond what the family can afford. The financial burden has become overwhelming, leaving them in a race against time.

This is a genuine and urgent case — one that reminds us how fragile life can be, and how much a small child depends on the care and compassion of others.

Now, Baby John’s future depends on receiving the treatment he needs in time — and on the hope that kindness and support can help him through this difficult journey.
