RARE CONDITION, STRONG SPIRIT: LITTLE BLAKE CONTINUES TO MAKE BRAVE PROGRESS WITH LOVE, CARE, AND HOPE

A young boy from Louisiana is touching hearts with his quiet resilience as he continues to make progress while living with a rare genetic condition.
Blake Garrett has been diagnosed with Mosaic Trisomy 22, a chromosomal condition that can affect many parts of the body and development. Children with this diagnosis may face challenges such as developmental delays, heart defects, hearing difficulties, and other physical differences.

From early on, Blake’s journey has required strength.
He is currently non-verbal and relies on a feeding tube, but despite these challenges, Blake continues to show encouraging signs of progress. With support, he has begun standing and can sit up on his own — small but meaningful milestones that bring hope to his family.

“Every little step forward means everything to us,” his family shared. “Blake shows us every day what determination looks like.”
Recently, Blake experienced a seizure, prompting concern from his care team. To better understand his condition, doctors recommended a baseline EEG after starting a new medication.

In a moment that brought both relief and gratitude, the procedure was able to take place right in the comfort of Blake’s home.
“After his recent seizure and starting new medication, his care team wanted to check his brain activity,” his family explained. “We are so thankful that with amazing technicians, patience, and modern medicine, they were able to come to our home and complete it comfortably for him.”

The test was successfully completed, and the family is now waiting for results.
“We’re holding onto hope,” they shared. “Blake has been through so much already, but he keeps showing us his strength in his own way.”
