PREY 2 (2025) – Plot Review
After the success of Prey (2022), which redefined the Predator franchise by blending sci-fi action with historical survival, Prey 2 takes the story into new territory, picking up years after the battle in the Great Plains.
Plot Summary:
The sequel follows Naru (played by Amber Midthunder), now a seasoned warrior and leader of her tribe, who has not only survived the deadly Predator encounter but is also evolving into a protector of her people. Her fame as a skilled fighter has reached distant lands, attracting the attention of not just other tribes, but more dangerous threats.
A new Predator species — the Tracker Predator — is revealed, far more cunning and lethal than the previous one. Instead of the hunter seeking prey in the wilderness, this Predator is targeting human colonies and settlements for sport, bringing a new level of terror to the world. The hunt is no longer about survival, but domination and destruction.
This time, Naru faces her most challenging enemy yet. As she embarks on a quest to hunt down the Tracker Predator, she must form alliances with other survivors, including a group of skilled mercenaries who are as resourceful and relentless as the Predator itself. The film introduces an expanding, dystopian world where human civilization and Predator technology collide, leading to deadly confrontations.
Naru is confronted by the question of whether her people can survive the modern world without losing their traditions, and whether vengeance against the Predators will be worth the cost. Throughout the film, she must grapple with the darkness that war and violence have brought into her life, while also facing the existential threat of the Predators’ return
Ben 10 (2005 – Present) is a popular American animated TV series that originally debuted on Cartoon Network. The series, created by Man of Action (a group consisting of Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle), has grown into a multi-franchise phenomenon, including multiple seasons, spin-offs, movies, comic books, and a broad range of merchandise.
Premise:
The story follows Ben Tennyson, a 10-year-old boy who stumbles upon a mysterious alien device called the Omnitrix. The device attaches itself to his wrist and allows Ben to transform into a variety of powerful alien creatures. Each alien has its own unique abilities, and Ben can switch between them at will, but the Omnitrix has limitations: it can only stay in each alien form for a short period of time, and Ben still has to figure out how to master each transformation.
Main Characters:
-
Ben Tennyson: The main protagonist, a confident yet often reckless boy who gains immense power from the Omnitrix. Over the course of the series, he matures into a true hero, learning responsibility and teamwork.
-
Gwen Tennyson: Ben’s cousin, who is highly intelligent and skilled in both magic and combat. She provides much-needed wisdom and often serves as the voice of reason for Ben. She eventually becomes a key ally and an essential part of the team.
-
Grandpa Max (Max Tennyson): Ben and Gwen’s grandfather, a former Plumber (an intergalactic organization dedicated to dealing with alien threats). He acts as a mentor to Ben and Gwen, helping them navigate the challenges they face while traveling across the country.
-
The Omnitrix: A key element of the show, it’s an alien device that allows Ben to transform into 10 different aliens. As the series progresses, Ben unlocks new alien forms, increasing his arsenal of powers.
The Mummy: Reign of Imhotep (2025)
Plot Summary:
Set 20 years after the events of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), Reign of Imhotep reawakens one of the most feared and powerful ancient figures: Imhotep, the high priest-turned-mummy, who was first introduced in the 1999 Mummy reboot. However, this time, the story takes a darker, more mythologically rich turn, as the world faces a new threat from the resurrected Egyptian priest.
The film opens with Alex O’Connell (Luke Ford), now an adult and leading an uneventful life after his adventures with his parents, Rick and Evelyn O’Connell. Alex is a renowned archaeologist but is somewhat burnt out by the dangers of his past. However, when a new, secret archaeological discovery surfaces in Egypt—an ancient temple beneath the sands that was long thought to be lost—a dark force is inadvertently unleashed.
The resurrection of Imhotep is no accident. It is revealed that a secret society, The Brotherhood of the Scarab, has been working for centuries to revive the ancient high priest in order to wield his power. Imhotep’s goal is no longer to seek immortality, but to reclaim his throne as a god in the modern world and bring about an apocalyptic reign where the ancient gods rule again.
Venom 3 (2025)
Plot Summary:
The much-anticipated Venom 3 picks up after the explosive events of Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), continuing the thrilling saga of Eddie Brock (played by Tom Hardy) and his symbiote partner, Venom. The movie dives deeper into the complex relationship between Eddie and Venom, exploring new challenges, moral dilemmas, and the evolution of their bond as they confront dangerous new adversaries.
Story Overview:
In the aftermath of Let There Be Carnage, Eddie Brock has finally come to terms with his symbiote, and the two have forged an uneasy but functional relationship. However, their peaceful coexistence is soon disrupted when a new, more powerful threat emerges from the shadows of the Marvel Universe. Venom’s past—and the darker history of the symbiotes—begins to catch up with them.
The film opens with Eddie trying to balance his career as a journalist with his life as the host of the Venom symbiote. However, he soon finds that his fame as “Venom” has attracted attention not just from the criminal world, but from far more dangerous forces. When a new symbiote—Raze, a brutal and highly aggressive offspring of Venom—arrives on Earth, the stakes are raised to dangerous levels.
Raze, much like Venom, has an insatiable desire to cause chaos and destruction. However, unlike Venom, who has learned to suppress his primal urges, Raze is wild, uncontrollable, and bent on spreading destruction across the globe. He represents everything Venom once was before he became Eddie’s reluctant ally.
As Eddie and Venom are forced to face Raze, they find themselves at odds with their own nature, struggling between their desire to protect humanity and the urge to give in to their darker impulses. This internal conflict forces Eddie to confront the idea that Venom is not just a parasite, but a partner with his own personality, desires, and moral code
