Mel Gibson, weathered like old leather and twice as tough, plays Jack Thorpe—a grizzled ex-cop turned backwoods recluse—whose quiet cabin life shatters when a cartel kill squad mistakes his woods for a dumping ground. One wrong step on a tripwire, and the hunter becomes the hunted… until he flips the script with a vengeance that’d make Rambo blush.
Director David A. Raymond keeps the pedal down: rain-slicked ambushes, bear traps snapping shut like steel jaws, and a finale where Gibson’s grizzly growl meets a hail of lead in a burning barn inferno. Newcomer Scarlett Briar’s rookie deputy adds spark, while the cartel’s icy enforcer (think a smirking Mads Mikkelsen type) keeps the stakes razor-sharp.
