A Little Fighter From Texas

A 7-year-old boy from Texas is now fighting to rebuild his life after a moment on the road changed everything.
In February, Mark and his mother, Adriana, were driving home in Waco after picking up takeout when police say a suspected impaired driver caused a devastating head-on collision.
What followed was every parent’s worst nightmare.
Mark went without oxygen for several minutes before first responders revived him at the scene. Then, on the way to the hospital, his tiny body gave out again, and he had to be brought back a second time.

Doctors warned Adriana that even if her son survived, life would never be the same. They told her the boy she knew might never come back.
But Mark had other plans.
Twelve days later, he opened his eyes.
Today, Mark is awake. He can recognize his family, respond, and communicate in his own way. But the crash left him with a severe spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. He is now paralyzed and requires constant care.

His days are filled with medications, tube feedings, therapy, and small steps that his family celebrates like miracles.
Adriana says when she leaves the room, Mark cries because he feels alone. At the same time, she is still recovering from her own injuries while caring for her baby, who was only five months old when the crash happened.
Through it all, one thing has kept this family standing: faith.
“My son is a fighter,” Adriana said.
And after everything Mark has survived, those words feel impossible to deny.
Please keep Mark, Adriana, and their family in your prayers as they continue this long journey of healing, strength, and hope. Let them know they are not alone.
