THE ICE ROAD 2: VENGEANCE (2025)

Higher heights, thinner ice, no return? Ice Road: Vengeance swaps frozen lakes for Himalayan hell, and it’s a wild pivot that mostly works. Liam Neeson’s Mike McCann, still haunted by his brother’s sacrifice, hauls ashes to Everest—until mercenaries hijack the bus, kicking off a dam-conspiracy cluster with crooked industrialists and political ghosts. No trucks on ice this time; it’s cliffside brawls, bus melees, and high-altitude heroics that scream “Taken” on steroids.

Neeson’s gravelly resolve anchors the absurdity—his free-climb opener? Peak dad-bod daredevil. Fan Bingbing’s guide Dhani spars with surprising fire, but the script’s thin as glacial melt, pacing lurches like a stalled rig. Action pops in close-quarters chaos, but CGI cliffs look cartoon-cruel, and the “ice road” title feels tacked-on.

4/5 for Neeson fans—ridiculous fun with heart under the avalanches. Critics skewer it (17% RT), but VOD hit says otherwise. Stream on Netflix Sept 15—run, don’t slip.
