Plot:
The beloved plumber duo, Mario and Luigi, are back in Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 for another thrilling, action-packed adventure that takes them beyond the Mushroom Kingdom! After their victory over Bowser and the saving of Princess Peach, Mario and his friends are now enjoying a period of peace. But this tranquility is shattered when a new, even more powerful villain emerges from the shadows.
A mysterious new threat, a powerful villain named “Darkstar,” begins to take control of the alternate worlds beyond the Mushroom Kingdom. Darkstar, a sorcerer with the ability to manipulate the very fabric of the Mushroom Kingdom’s reality, threatens to plunge the entire universe into eternal darkness. To stop him, Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Toad must embark on a perilous journey through a variety of fantastical realms—some familiar, others entirely new.
The team is joined by an unlikely ally—Donkey Kong, voiced by Dwayne Johnson—who helps guide them through the treacherous lands of the Jungle Kingdom. Along the way, they encounter new characters, including an enigmatic, rebellious figure named Vixie (voiced by Emma Stone), who may hold the key to unlocking the secret to Darkstar’s power.
In this sequel, Mario must face his greatest challenge yet—finding not just his courage, but his true purpose in saving the world, while Luigi uncovers a newfound bravery that will change the course of their journey. As the stakes grow higher and new alliances form, Mario and his friends must work together to stop Darkstar before he uses the power of the enchanted Star Rod to bend the universe to his will.
