Andalusia and Charles Mesa welcomed their first baby, Caper, after a full-term pregnancy, eagerly looking forward to a healthy start to family life. However, shortly after his birth, their joy turned into immediate concern when Caper struggled to breathe and stabilize his vital signs. He was urgently rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where a dedicated medical team began closely monitoring his condition.

As his parents stayed by his side around the clock, desperate for clarity, doctors conducted an electroencephalogram (EEG) to analyze his brain activity.
