A BOY’S REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF COURAGE AND RESILIENCE

Shine Arslanian entered the world five weeks premature, weighing just 4.5 pounds. Upon his arrival, his family and medical team discovered severe physical complications that had gone entirely undetected during routine pregnancy scans. The newborn faced extraordinary challenges right from his very first moments of life.

Doctors at Children’s Hospital immediately identified several critical conditions affecting various parts of Shine’s body. His jaw and eyes were unable to open properly, preventing basic movements, while his knees could not fully extend. In addition, Shine was born with only one functional finger on each hand, alongside multiple fused fingers and toes, requiring specialized medical intervention and long-term care plans.

Despite the daunting prognosis and difficult diagnosis, Shine’s early childhood became a powerful story of perseverance and hope. Over the next six years, he endured 17 complex surgeries designed to address his mobility issues and physical limitations. Through relentless medical care, advanced therapies, and the unwavering support of his family, Shine fought past every obstacle.

Today, at six years old, Shine runs confidently on prosthetic legs, transforming initial despair into an inspiring testament to human resilience, medical innovation, and the power of a strong spirit.
