In Hotel Transylvania 5, the lovable monster family returns for another hilarious and heartwarming adventure at the iconic monster hotel. After the events of Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania, where Johnny (Andy Samberg) became the temporary monster, the hotel has settled into a new normal with Johnny as the manager and Drac (Adam Sandler) finding peace in his retirement. However, their lives take a turn when a new and unexpected challenge emerges that threatens to disrupt the delicate balance they’ve worked hard to achieve.
The story kicks off when a mysterious, new group of “modern” monsters, led by a suave and sophisticated new guest named Maxim (a new voice talent), arrives at Hotel Transylvania, boasting about their high-tech gadgets, advanced monster lifestyles, and even more extravagant ways of living. These new monsters claim that they are the future of monster-kind, causing tension between them and the traditional ways of the hotel’s long-standing residents.
As Johnny tries to prove his worth as the hotel manager, Drac must help him navigate the challenges of running the hotel, dealing with these modern, technology-obsessed guests who are pushing for big changes. Meanwhile, Mavis (Selena Gomez), who is now more involved in the hotel’s operations, realizes that the arrival of these new guests might also be hiding a deeper plot—a dangerous scheme to take over the hotel and turn it into a commercial, corporate monstrosity.
In the middle of the chaos, an old villain from the past—perhaps a creature even more terrifying than Dracula himself—returns with an evil plan to destroy the hotel. The team must work together, combining their traditional monster charm with Johnny’s “new school” approach, to stop the impending disaster and save the hotel from being turned into something they can no longer recognize.
As always, Hotel Transylvania 5 delivers plenty of slapstick humor, wild antics, and touching moments about family, identity, and finding balance between tradition and innovation. The monster family, including Frankenstein, the Mummy, and the Werewolf clan, come together to restore harmony at the hotel, learning along the way that it’s not about being the best or the newest, but about staying true to who they are and celebrating what makes them unique.
