CRAWL 2 (2026)

“Crawl 2” slithers back onto the screen with a vengeance — hungrier, harsher, and even more relentless than the 2019 original. This sequel doesn’t just raise the stakes; it drags them underwater, snaps them in half, and thrashes them around in the dark. If you’re looking for sunlit jump scares, turn back. This is pure, claustrophobic survival horror at its finest.

Set several years after the first film, the story follows Haley Keller, now a seasoned rescue diver haunted by the nightmare she barely escaped. When a tropical cyclone floods a remote coastal research base, authorities lose contact with the entire facility. Haley joins the emergency team — only to discover the truth: the base was experimenting with artificially enhanced crocodiles designed to survive in extreme weather. And now, with the power grid failing and the storm trapping everyone inside, these apex predators are loose… and evolving.

What makes “Crawl 2” shine is its mastery of tension. Director Alexandre Aja returns to his roots, crafting scenes so tight and suffocating you can practically feel the freezing water rising around your neck. Each corridor, each submerged room becomes a battleground between human instinct and prehistoric brutality.

The action is visceral, the kills are vicious, and the sound design — the low rumbles, the splashes, the gurgling growls — turns the film into an immersive nightmare. Kaya Scodelario delivers a raw, physical performance, carrying the emotional weight of trauma while fighting to outsmart creatures bred for perfect predation.
