Karate Kid 2 (2025)

Starring: Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Jackie Chan, and new characters voiced by Simu Liu and Awkwafina.

Plot:
In Karate Kid 2, the legacy of Miyagi-Do Karate and Cobra Kai continues to shape the lives of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), as well as the new generation of martial artists. After the intense battle for the soul of the dojo in Cobra Kai, Daniel and Johnny are forced to work together once again to prevent a rising martial arts rivalry that threatens to take their students in a dangerous direction.

The story picks up years after the events of Cobra Kai, with both Daniel and Johnny in a new phase of life. Johnny is trying to rebuild his life and reconnect with his son, while Daniel’s success in business has kept him distracted from his martial arts roots. However, a new martial arts prodigy (Simu Liu), who is both a gifted fighter and an opportunist, enters the scene and begins stirring trouble by challenging the teachings of both Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai.

When Daniel and Johnny face off with this new threat, they realize that their old rivalry has evolved into something more dangerous, and they must now find a way to pass on the values of karate while confronting the greed and arrogance that come with it. With help from their mentors, including Mr. Miyagi’s legacy (through flashbacks and wisdom passed down), they must unite their dojos to teach their students the true meaning of martial artsβ€”balance, respect, and inner strength.

But the greatest challenge comes when they must face their own fears and past mistakes, and ultimately, work together as father figures to not just save karate, but to heal the fractures in their own relationships and their students’ lives.
