With heavy hearts and more tears than words can express, a family is remembering their beautiful little girl, Elouise Hope, whose time with them was heartbreakingly short.

Elouise was born on October 31 at 3:55pm. For the brief time she was here, her family stayed by her side every moment they could, holding her tiny hands and memorising every precious detail about their daughter.

They remembered her tiny toes, her perfect little nose, the little chin she inherited from her mother and the ears that reminded them of her father.

To her family, every tiny feature was unforgettable.

Elouise was born with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), a condition in which an opening in the diaphragm allows abdominal organs to move into the chest, leaving less room for the lungs to develop and function properly.

Despite everything she was facing, her family described Elouise as a little fighter who kept going until the very end.

But on November 1, at 3:27pm — less than 24 hours after she was born — her tiny heart could no longer keep up.

“She was a fighter who fought till the very short end,” her family shared.

The loss left them facing a pain they never imagined they would have to endure so soon after welcoming their daughter into the world.

They had hoped to give Elouise the farewell she deserved, and their family and supporters came together to make that day as beautiful as possible.

Her funeral was held at Blackley Crematorium on December 11, a day her loved ones wanted to be a fitting tribute to the little girl who had made such a lasting impression in such a short time.

But even after saying goodbye, Elouise’s family still had one more wish.

They wanted to give their beautiful daughter a headstone that would honour her memory — something as special as the little girl they will carry in their hearts forever.

“We just want it to be perfect for her,” her family shared.

For those who knew Elouise, her life cannot be measured by the number of hours she spent in this world.

She was a daughter who was held, loved and remembered.

A little girl whose tiny hands were held tightly, whose features were carefully memorised, and whose place in her family’s heart will never disappear.

Elouise Hope may have had only a short time with her family, but she left behind a lifetime of love.

And for her family, she will always deserve perfection — just like she was.
