At just 16 weeks pregnant, Noah’s parents were given the news every parent dreads — doctors had discovered that “something was wrong.”

What followed was a long and uncertain journey through high-risk appointments and specialist clinics as the family prepared for the arrival of their little boy.

Doctors eventually discovered that Noah had Tetralogy of Fallot and Double Outlet Right Ventricle, two complex heart conditions that meant he would need immediate specialist care after birth.

His parents were advised to travel more than three hours from home to deliver at Vanderbilt — a decision they would later describe as one of the best they ever made.

Noah was born needing intensive medical support and spent an extraordinary 197 days in the NICU and PCICU.

During those long months, his tiny body endured numerous procedures, including two brain surgeries and three heart catheterizations.

For his family, every day brought new uncertainty.

“We learned very quickly to take things one day at a time,” his family shared. “There were so many moments when we didn’t know what the next day would bring, but Noah kept giving us reasons to keep going.”

After a series of complications, the open-heart repair doctors had planned could no longer go ahead as expected.

Instead, Noah finally went home with his family.

For three precious months, they were able to put the hospital behind them and simply enjoy being together — loving on Noah, making memories and experiencing the everyday moments they had spent so long waiting for.

Then, at 11 months old, the moment the family had been preparing for finally arrived.

Noah underwent his open-heart surgery.

Now recovering, the little boy continues to surprise his family every day with his strength and determination.

“After everything he has been through, seeing him recover is something we never take for granted,” his family said. “He has shown us what it means to keep fighting, even when the road is incredibly difficult.”

From a frightening diagnosis at just 16 weeks of pregnancy to nearly 200 days in intensive care, countless procedures and finally major heart surgery, Noah has already overcome more than his family could have imagined.

And through it all, one thing has never changed.

“It’s impossible to know Noah and not love him.”
