BABY LUCAS’ RARE LIMB DIFFERENCE DISCOVERED BEFORE BIRTH — HIS FAMILY SAYS IT WILL NEVER DEFINE HIS FUTURE

Meet Lucas James, a precious little boy who entered the world on May 8, with a special difference that his family says makes him even more extraordinary.
His parents first learned at 24 weeks that Lucas was missing his left hand. But his mother believes she noticed something was different as early as 12 weeks into her pregnancy.
For a moment, there were naturally many questions and emotions. Yet as the family prepared to welcome their son, their focus became simple: Lucas was their baby, and they could not wait to meet him.

Lucas is the first person on either side of his family to be born without a hand — making his arrival an entirely new journey for everyone who loves him.
“We know there will be things we’ll have to learn along the way,” his family shared. “But Lucas has already shown us that being different doesn’t make his future any smaller.”
And his parents have chosen to celebrate what makes him unique, affectionately calling his little arm his “lucky fin.”
They know the road ahead may come with challenges as Lucas grows, but they are ready to face each step beside him — learning, adapting, and making sure he always knows just how loved he is.

“He is already so special to us,” his family said. “We hope he grows up knowing that his difference is simply one part of his story — not something that defines what he can become.”
For now, Lucas is simply enjoying his first days in the world, surrounded by the people who have loved him long before they ever held him.
And his family already knows one thing for certain: this little boy’s journey is only just beginning.
