MIRACLE BABY: WOMAN SURMOUNTS INFERTILITY TO DELIVER RECORD-BREAKING 15-POUND GIRL

A New York mother who was once given a less than 15 percent chance of conceiving naturally has welcomed an extraordinary record-breaking baby girl weighing over 15 pounds, transforming years of medical uncertainty into a triumphant family milestone.

Joi Buckley gave birth to her daughter, Harper, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. The newborn weighed a remarkable 15 pounds 5 ounces and measured 23¼ inches long, making her the largest baby ever delivered in the hospital’s history. Born with a full head of hair, Harper’s size rivaled that of an average six-month-old infant, astonishing both her family and the attending medical staff. While doctors had anticipated a larger-than-average baby, Joi admitted that nothing prepared her for the final scale reading.

Harper was placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as a precautionary measure to monitor her blood sugar and oxygen levels. Though leaving the hospital temporarily without her daughter was emotionally challenging, Joi remained confident in her newborn’s resilience.

This miraculous arrival marks the culmination of a deeply emotional seven-year journey. After being told natural conception was nearly impossible, Joi and her husband initially embraced adoption to start their family. Two years later, to their complete surprise, Joi conceived naturally and gave birth to an 11-pound son.

Harper’s arrival now completes their family of three children. Reflecting on her path from fertility struggles to an astonishing birth story, Joi hopes her family’s miracle offers comfort and renewed hope to others facing similar challenges.
