Bridlington Holiday Park Horror: Two Teenagers Found Unresponsive at Bridlington Holiday Park as Investigation Leads to Arrest of Local Man

A police notice has been issued after a teenage couple sadly passed away in a suspected carbon monoxide incident at a holiday park.
Ethan Slater, 17, and Cherish Bean, 15, both from Sheffield, were found unresponsive inside their rental accommodation at Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington, Yorkshire, on Wednesday.
A 42-year-old man has become the second person taken into custody on suspicion of serious negligence in connection with the incident, Humberside Police said. On Thursday, officers also detained a 33-year-old man, whose time in custody was extended by an additional 12 hours.

Chief Superintendent Matt Peach, Northbank Divisional Commander, has urged the public not to speculate out of respect for the families’ privacy. He said:
“Our thoughts remain with the loved ones of both teenagers, who have been named by their families as 15-year-old Cherish Bean and 17-year-old Ethan Slater, who sadly lost their lives.
“Specially trained officers are providing ongoing support during this incredibly distressing time, and I would again ask people to refrain from speculation out of respect for their privacy.
“Since we received the welfare concern call on Wednesday morning, a dedicated team of detectives and specialist officers have continued to carry out detailed inquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, which is believed to be linked to carbon monoxide exposure.

“The cordon remains in place at Little Eden Holiday Park and we continue to work alongside the Health and Safety Executive, Humberside Fire & Rescue, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.”
Tributes have poured in for the teenagers, and a GoFundMe launched for Ethan’s family has raised more than £18,000 within 48 hours, Yorkshire Live reports. The page reads:
“It is with unimaginable heartbreak that I write this. Our son Ethan unexpectedly passed away at just 17 years old, alongside his beautiful girlfriend.
“No parent should ever have to write these words. No family should ever have to face this pain.

“Ethan had his whole life ahead of him. He’ll never get to pass his driving test. He’ll never celebrate his 18th birthday. He’ll never reach the milestones we all assumed were waiting for him. He was just beginning his journey into adulthood, full of plans, laughter, and a future that came to an end far too soon.
“He was the most kind-hearted boy, with a natural warmth. He was funny, protective, and carried himself with a quiet strength and loyalty that made us so proud to call him our son.
“He was loved beyond measure — a son, a brother, a grandson, a friend. His smile lit up a room, and his absence has left a silence that feels impossible to fill. Our lives will never be the same without him.”

In a statement issued through police, Cherish’s mum said:
“My perfect girl, my angel, has left this world and we are broken as a family. I am broken as a mother, and I will never ever be the same again.
“If you know me, I live and breathe my children, and we were away for a few nights making the best memories. We have had the best life together and it has been taken from under us.”
