The UN held an urgent session amid rising regional tensions, while Iran has not issued any public statement regarding its leadership

Former US leader Donald Trump recently stated on social media that a senior Iranian religious figure had passed away, though there has been no official confirmation from authorities in Tehran regarding this claim.
Iran’s representative at the United Nations expressed concern that recent public statements and external commentary had heightened tensions, and urged international organizations to pay closer attention to the situation.

During remarks at an emergency UN meeting, the Iranian envoy did not directly address recent public comments made by leaders from the United States or Israel regarding the reported status of Iran’s top religious authority.
Earlier, Donald Trump wrote online that Iran’s leading cleric, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had died following coordinated operations involving the United States and Israel on February 28. However, no independent or official confirmation has been released by Iranian authorities.
In a separate social media post, Trump indicated that developments involving Iran would not necessarily bring an end to ongoing regional tensions.

Israeli media outlets reported that senior officials from both countries had been briefed on developments related to high-ranking Iranian figures. Additional reports cited unnamed sources discussing internal briefings shared with US officials.
Israel later announced that it had carried out targeted operations in Tehran involving senior Iranian officials. Among those reportedly affected were several high-level advisors and defense officials.
Iran has not issued formal confirmation regarding the claims made in those reports.

Meanwhile, Turkish media quoted the son of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian as saying his father was safe following recent large-scale regional developments. He also stated that other officials were secure and that precautionary measures had been taken.
Humanitarian organizations reported significant casualties and injuries resulting from recent events, though exact details remain subject to official verification.
