Prison Inmate Delivers “Katie’s Revenge” to Child Killer Anthony Stockelman

In a sh𝚘cking case that continues to stir strong emotions, convicted murderer Anthony Stockelman of Crothersville, Indiana, received an unexpected form of retribution while serving his life sentence.
Stockelman was convicted for the abduction and murder of 10-year-old Katelyn “Katie” Collman, who was taken while walking to a local Dollar General store for her mother. To avoid the death penalty, Stockelman accepted a plea deal that sentenced him to life imprisonment for the murder and an additional 30 years for sexual assault. Despite accepting the plea, he denied the charges against him.

In 2006, prison officials mistakenly placed Stockelman in the same cell block as Jared Harris, Katie’s cousin, who was serving time for burglary. After discovering Stockelman’s identity, Harris allegedly made repeated threats toward him.
On September 22, 2006, Harris followed through on those threats. According to official reports, he entered Stockelman’s cell, locked the door, and gave him a choice — to lose his life or accept a permanent mark. Harris then forcibly tattooed the words “KATIE’S REVENGE” across Stockelman’s forehead.

Harris later confessed to the act, stating that it was an act of vengeance for his cousin. He was charged with battery and received an additional seven-year prison sentence.
Photos of Stockelman’s tattooed forehead later circulated online after being leaked by two prison guards. The guards were subsequently dismissed from their positions, though many in the true crime community have referred to the incident as a symbolic form of justice for Katie.

The story remains one of the most talked-about cases in Indiana’s criminal history, a chilling reminder of how grief and anger can echo even behind prison walls.
