HEARTBREAKING: THE BABY HAS NEVER CRIED SINCE BIRTH

Hundreds of fluid-filled cysts covering half of his face have prevented a 3-month-old baby from ever crying since birth.
For parents, hearing their child’s first cry is a sacred joy. That is also the humble wish of Victoria Silvestri (27 years old, from Florida, USA).

More than three months have passed since the birth of Gavin Silvestri, but Victoria has never heard him cry. Gavin unfortunately suffers from cystic hygroma – a rare condition that causes cysts to grow all over the lower half of his face.

Hundreds of fluid-filled cysts have developed across his chin, cheeks, lips, and neck. The cysts have also appeared in his trachea, obstructing his breathing, so doctors have had to insert a breathing tube. That’s why he can’t cry like other children.

Since birth, Gavin has received special care at Nicklau Children’s Hospital in Florida. Gavin underwent a major 7-hour surgery to remove dead tissue from his face.

Doctors are waiting for Gavin to recover from the surgery before continuing with further treatments. It is expected that he will need several more surgeries before he can be discharged.

Gavin’s parents are eagerly awaiting the day they can bring him home, and for them, hearing their son’s first cry will be an unforgettable experience.
