CONGENITAL DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA STOLE HER FIRST BREATHS — BUT ELOUISE’S SHORT LIFE WAS FILLED WITH PURE LOVE

Elouise Hope entered the world on October 31— a day meant to celebrate new life, joy, and beginnings. But just one day later, her family faced an unimaginable goodbye.

Though her time was heartbreakingly short, Elouise was never alone.

Elouise was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) — a rare and serious condition where a hole in the diaphragm allows organs like the stomach and intestines to move into the chest. This prevents the lungs from developing properly, making it extremely difficult for the baby to breathe and receive enough oxygen.

Despite her strength, Elouise’s tiny body faced overwhelming challenges from the very beginning.

Her heart, already under strain due to the lack of oxygen, simply couldn’t keep going.

“Even though she tried her best, her little heart just couldn’t take it any longer,” her parents said.

In those precious hours, her family poured all their love into every second they had together — moments that will stay with them forever.

“We held her hands, we talked to her, we told her how much we loved her,” they shared. “She knew she was loved every single second she was here.”

Her parents stayed by her side through every moment, holding her gently, memorizing every detail they could — her tiny toes, her delicate fingers, and the perfect little features that made her theirs.

“The way she had mummy’s chin and daddy’s ears… we’ll never forget that,” her family shared softly. “She was absolutely perfect.”

Now, as they grieve the loss of their little girl, her family is hoping to give Elouise the farewell she deserves — one filled with the same love and care that surrounded her during her short life.

“Not many people know about CDH,” they added, “but for those who do, our hearts are with you. No family should have to go through this.”
