BABY BOY BORN WITH A FACE RESEMBLING AN 80-YEAR-OLD MAN

Local doctors say the baby boy suffers from a rare condition called Hutchinson Gilford syndrome – a rare genetic mutation that makes his face look much older than other newborns.
The unfortunate baby was born at a hospital in Magura district, Bangladesh on September 25th. Doctors and family were astonished by the unusual signs of aging on his face from birth.

It is known that from birth, the baby already had wrinkles on his face, sunken eyes, a thin body, and thick hair growing on his back.
Local doctors say the baby boy suffers from the rare Hutchinson Gilford syndrome (also known as precocious infant syndrome). This is a rare genetic mutation that makes the baby’s face look much older than other newborns.
On average, only 1 in 4 million babies are affected by this syndrome.

The doctors treating the boy said: “This child is unlike other newborns. His face has a rough skin texture and many wrinkles. This is a sign of skin aging.”
However, the boy’s parents were overjoyed to welcome their son and called it a “miracle.”
Mr. Biswajit Patro (the boy’s father) said: “We can only thank God. There is nothing to be sad about regarding my son’s appearance. We accept everything about him. The family was very lucky to have a daughter and now a son.”

The doctors said the boy is currently developing normally like other children. The family is also optimistic that their son will grow up normally, even though most children with progeria do not live past the age of 13.
