Raedyn, who has been making incredible progress with eating—now enjoying food all day long—has recently developed issues when drinking liquids. His mother explained that after taking about two ounces from a bottle, he begins coughing with a wet sound, followed by choking and the need for suctioning. His eyes water, his nose runs, and he continues to sound congested afterward.

Concerned, his mother has requested a new swallow study focusing on liquids to determine whether he is aspirating. If tests confirm this, they may need to adjust his feeding routine, possibly by thickening his drinks or finding alternative methods to keep him safe while hydrated.

Another worrying development involves Raedyn’s breathing during deep sleep. His ventilator has recently begun alarming at night, signaling that he’s not exhaling after receiving air from the machine. This could mean he’s experiencing apnea episodes—or that his body is simply not responding while in deep sleep. Either way, his family is taking it seriously and plans to consult with his pulmonologist on Monday to determine the next steps.

Despite these new challenges, Raedyn continues to brighten his family’s days with his strong spirit and big personality. His mother says he always manages to stay at the center of attention—proof that even through uncertainty, his light continues to shine.
