CAUGHT ON CAMERA MOMENT NEIGHBOR INJURES FAMILY DOG REX LEAVING HIM FACING LEG AMPUTATION AS HEARTBROKEN OWNERS DEMAND JUSTICE

A Madison, Indiana family is heartbroken and searching for justice after their beloved 3-year-old dog, Rex, was reportedly harmed by a neighbor in a shocking incident caught on a Ring camera.
Jonathan and Cansas Combs say they came home last Saturday to find Rex badly injured. At first, they feared he had been hit by a vehicle. But after reviewing their security footage, they discovered something far more disturbing.

The video reportedly shows a man driving a gold Ford F-150 pulling up near their home, pointing an object out of the truck, and injuring Rex in the leg before driving away.
“I just broke down… it was devastating,” Cansas said.

The accused individual, Monte Eaglin, is a neighbor of the family and has since been arrested and charged. Authorities confirmed the case is moving through the court system. Eaglin has bonded out of jail and is scheduled to stand trial in August.
Rex was rushed to an emergency veterinarian, where the family received heartbreaking news: his injured leg will need to be amputated. The surgery and medical expenses are expected to exceed $6,000.
For Jonathan, who once didn’t even want a dog, Rex became much more than a pet.

“I wouldn’t trade him for the world,” he said.
The family, who have five children, say they are grateful none of their kids witnessed the incident. Still, the emotional toll has been enormous.
“It’s been a traumatic event, especially for the kids and for Rex,” Cansas said.

Since sharing Rex’s story online, support has poured in from thousands of people. Their posts have received hundreds of thousands of views, and strangers have even stopped by to bring treats and encouragement to the injured dog.
As Rex prepares for life on three legs, his family hopes the person responsible will be held accountable and that their loyal companion can continue his recovery surrounded by love.
