Nara Smith Reveals Daughter Whimsy, 2, Has Been Diagnosed with Cancer

Influencer and Homemade cookbook author Nara Smith, 24, has shared that her 2-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou Smith, was diagnosed with cancer late last year.
In an emotional Instagram Reel posted on July 1, Nara opened up about the family’s journey alongside her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, 28. She described noticing something suspicious with Whimsy, leading them to seek medical attention.
“When we saw something suspicious on her, we took her to the ER and they didn’t quite know what to make of it,” Nara recalled. “When we took her into our pediatrician, I just remember him going really quiet and calm… My heart dropped in that moment. I don’t know whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mom’s intuition, but the first thing that I felt was she has cancer.”

Following the pediatrician’s advice, Lucky took Whimsy to a children’s hospital for further tests, including X-rays, ultrasounds, and a biopsy. Doctors confirmed the diagnosis and informed the couple that the cancer had already spread, requiring immediate chemotherapy.
Nara did not disclose the specific type of cancer or provide an update on Whimsy’s current condition.
The couple shares four children together: Rumble Honey (5), Slim Easy (4), Whimsy Lou (2), and Fawnie Golden (born September 2025). Lucky also has a daughter, Gravity, from a previous relationship.
In her video, Nara explained that the diagnosis has been incredibly challenging, especially while postpartum and balancing care for their other children, hospital visits, and work. She noted that she has been posting less on social media as a result.
“Processing this and navigating all of this as a family has been really hard,” she shared. Nara also mentioned finding comfort in connecting with other parents facing similar situations and hopes her story encourages others to get checked for concerning symptoms.
The family has received an outpouring of support from fans and the community following the announcement.
