An 11-year-old girl and her father were shot while sitting in their car outside a McDonald’s in Hallandale Beach, Florida, on June 27, becoming innocent bystanders in a sudden parking lot altercation.

According to a GoFundMe campaign set up for the family, Oscar Roman Miron and his wife had just arrived at the restaurant. While the mother went inside to pick up their food order, Oscar remained in the vehicle with their three children. Without warning, gunfire erupted during an argument between other individuals in the parking lot.

Dora Belen Rivera, the couple’s 11-year-old daughter, was shot in the head. Her father was shot in the hip. Their two younger children — ages 2 and 5 — were also in the car but were physically unharmed, though they witnessed the terrifying event.

As of early July 2026, Oscar has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home. Dora remains hospitalized in stable condition after undergoing surgery. Doctors have determined that the bullet lodged in her head cannot be removed at this time, as doing so could cause even greater harm. She faces a long and challenging road to recovery.

Ralph N-Kosi Blue III, an 18-year-old McDonald’s employee who was arriving for work, was arrested in connection with the shooting. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is no longer employed by McDonald’s and is being held without bond.

The family has emphasized that they had no involvement in the dispute and were simply waiting for their meal when the violence occurred. A GoFundMe has been created to support the family during this difficult time.
