🐶 Rescuer Stunned After Finding Newborn Puppy With Green Fur

A surprising rescue in Romania has captured hearts after a newborn puppy was found with an unusual — and eye-catching — feature: green fur.
Last month, staff at Do Good Rescue, an animal shelter in Solca, Romania, received a report about a dog abandoned at a nearby campground. Without hesitation, the rescue team rushed to the scene, determined to help.

Despite whatever hardships she had endured, the mother dog greeted her rescuers with a gentle and friendly demeanor, quickly winning them over. But it wasn’t just her sweet personality that stood out.
Among her newborn puppies, one tiny pup immediately caught everyone’s attention — its fur had a distinct green tint.
At first, the unusual coloring left rescuers puzzled. However, a veterinarian soon explained that the phenomenon, while rare, is completely natural and harmless. The green hue can occur when puppies are exposed in the womb to a pigment called biliverdin, found in bile. When it mixes with the amniotic fluid during birth, it can temporarily stain a puppy’s light-colored fur.
Though striking at first glance, the green coloration typically fades over time as the puppy grows and its coat changes.

With the mystery solved, the focus quickly returned to what mattered most — ensuring the safety and well-being of the entire little family. Now under proper care, the mother dog and her puppies are safe, warm, and thriving.
What began as a concerning rescue turned into a moment of wonder, reminding everyone that nature still holds surprises — and that even the most unusual beginnings can lead to happy endings.
