DreamDoll Bri and Her Cousin AJ Laid to Rest: An Emotional Farewell and the Lingering Pain of the South Florida Community

Pompano Beach, Florida – On July 25–26, 2026, at Hopewell Baptist Church (890 NW 15th Street), hundreds of family members, friends, fellow influencers, and supporters gathered in a heavy atmosphere to say their final goodbyes to two young lives: Brianna “DreamDoll Bri” Johnson and her cousin Arthur Lee “AJ” Johnson III. Both were just 21 years old. They were laid to rest together in a memorial service filled with tears, gospel music, and heartfelt prayers.

The tragedy began in the early hours of July 5, 2026, shortly after the Fourth of July weekend. Around 5:30 a.m., at the intersection of Southwest 27th Court and Sunshine Boulevard in Miramar (Broward County), the bright lime-green Lamborghini Urus carrying Bri, AJ, and another friend was approached by a white sedan (some reports identified it as a BMW). A shooter from the passenger side opened fire with multiple rounds. The Lamborghini continued for about a block before crashing into a residential home. All three occupants were critically wounded. Brianna Johnson died at Memorial Regional Hospital. AJ was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and passed away three days later, on July 8. The third victim survived after being shot in the face and having his jaw wired shut.

Miramar police described the incident as appearing “targeted.” Reports mentioned a possible altercation or tension involving the Lamborghini at a gas station earlier, but as of now, no arrests have been made. Brianna Johnson, known online as @_itgirlbri on TikTok and @dreamdoll_brii on Instagram, had built a following of over 500,000–600,000 with her lifestyle content, confidence, and vibrant personality. She was also featured on the viral track “Bend Ova” and was beginning to make moves in music, with performances lined up in Tampa and locally. Her mother, Hope Jones, had shared that her daughter was “really blowing up.” AJ was described by family as a young entrepreneur building a clothing line, with no gang affiliations. Both stood out at Blanche Ely High School — AJ as “Mr. Senior” and Bri as “Miss Blanche Ely.”

The funeral service at Hopewell Baptist Church was deeply emotional. After a public viewing the evening before, the final viewing took place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the Celebration of Life. Gospel songs, scripture readings, and personal tributes left many in tears. Videos from the service showed Bri’s mother breaking down at her daughter’s casket, while AJ’s relatives were equally devastated.
