Sydney Towle Shared What She Wanted Her Final Message to Be in a 2025 Interview Before She Died
Sydney Towle always knew what the most important lesson she wanted to leave was.Less than a year before her death at the age of 26, the influencer, who documented her journey after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, appeared on a podcast where she shared what she would want her final message to others to be.
“Well, what I would want to tell people, I think, I’ve actually thought about this before,” Towle said in a resurfaced November 2025 interview with Danielle Robay on her Question Everything podcast for an episode titled “Too Young for Cancer: Sydney Towle on Fighting for Her Life at 25.”

“Like, if I were to make one more video, what would I say?” she continued. “And it was my last video, I think I would just remind people, what I’ve said to you already, is to treat people with kindness.”
Towle called it “the biggest” way someone could positively impact another person’s life.
“Just treat people with compassion, empathy, and treat people the way you want to be treated,” she continued. “It sounds so cliché, and it’s such a common saying, but I feel like we never know what someone is going through. And if you could spread, like, a little bit of kindness, a little bit of positivity goes such a long way for someone else, and it could make their day, their week. That’s the thing that I would always say.”

The social media star was 23 years old when she received a diagnosis for cholangiocarcinoma, a rare bile duct cancer. The illness mostly affects people over the age of 50.
Her family announced via social media on Thursday, Aug. 6 that she had died the day prior.
“We will always love you so much, Sydney. I am so proud of how hard you fought. I love you,” the caption read.

The upload was a single photo of Towle standing on a mountaintop, smiling with the sun beaming behind her.
“Rest in Peace Sydney Elizabeth Towle,” was written in text over the image. “An endless ray of sunshine. A daughter, a sister and friend to so many.”
In May, Towle spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about her shock after one of her doctors refused to keep treating her, instead suggesting that it was time to start end-of-life care.

“I was definitely in complete shock because, as my mom and I had said in that video that I made afterwards, we had never been told that that was the path that we were going towards,” she told PEOPLE. “No one had ever mentioned hospice or end-of-life care. So to be told that, we were both expecting just to have a conversation with him that morning about my treatment plan.”
Just one day after her death, Towle’s brother Austin Towle told PEOPLE that when he got the news about her end-of-life care, he saw it as a necessity in the interest of “making her comfortable.”

“It was so far along that there was no choice but to go to hospice,” Austin said.
He also shared a memory of his sister that he hopes lasts: “She just kept fighting. So I want people to know that it’s never over until it’s over. Don’t give up hope, no matter what. She never did. Not literally until she physically, mentally, emotionally — everything — couldn’t anymore.”
