Angelica Brophy, 44, has been missing since July 6.

Despite those efforts, Angelica has not been located.

Authorities have also previously said there was no known evidence of foul play in her disappearance.

THE REMAINS HAVE NOT BEEN LINKED TO HER

The discovery naturally triggered speculation because of the location.

However, investigators have not established a connection between the remains and Angelica’s disappearance.

That distinction is important.

The identity of the person whose remains were found and the circumstances surrounding that death remain under investigation.

Even without a confirmed connection to Angelica, the investigation into the remains is taking place in the same broader region where authorities have been searching for her.

For now, however, investigators are treating the two matters separately.
