Former West Bromwich Albion Player Quévin Castro Dies After Collapsing During Friendly Match

Quévin Castro, 25, has died after collapsing during a pre-season friendly match in Malveira, Portugal.

Castro was playing for Real Sport Clube against Estrela da Amadora when he suddenly collapsed around the 10th minute of the game.

Medical staff immediately rushed to assist him, administering emergency treatment and using a defibrillator before transporting him to a hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, Castro later died.

The midfielder had previously played for West Bromwich Albion and spent time with several other English clubs, including Burton Albion, Notts County, and Gateshead.

News of his death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from the football community, with teammates, former clubs, and supporters remembering the young player’s career.

The official medical cause of death has not yet been announced. Authorities and medical officials are expected to provide further information once the circumstances surrounding his sudden collapse have been established.
