ALLISON RAHMANI: NEW DETAILS EMERGE AFTER SUV CRASH INTO FAMILY POOL

The sudden loss of Allison Rahmani, a 40-year-old Long Island teacher and mother of four, has left her family and community searching for answers after her SUV plunged into a backyard swimming pool in Hewlett.

Rahmani was driving a 2023 GMC SUV on Friday, August 21, when she lost control in the driveway. The vehicle struck a tree, hit an unoccupied parked car and then entered the family’s inground pool.

 A MEDICAL EMERGENCY MAY HAVE COME FIRST

The latest reporting from the New York Post says sources close to the investigation believe Rahmani may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash, potentially causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

Rahmani was able to call 911 after the incident, but she could not be saved and was pronounced unresponsive while being taken to a hospital. Police have said foul play is not suspected, although the investigation remains ongoing.

Importantly, PEOPLE reported that police had not publicly released an official cause of death. The medical-emergency explanation therefore remains a reported investigative theory rather than a final official determination.

A MOTHER, TEACHER AND COMMUNITY MEMBER

Rahmani was a teacher and math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway.

She had recently celebrated her 40th birthday and was scheduled to leave for a Paris trip with her husband, Matthew Rahmani, on the same day as her funeral.

At Sunday’s service, her husband remembered her as a devoted wife and mother, while family members spoke about her warmth and dedication to children.

Her sister described her as someone who saw potential in children others might have struggled to understand, reflecting the importance she placed on her work as an educator.

The key question is now whether a sudden medical event caused Rahmani to lose control — or whether another factor contributed to the crash.
