Three 19-year-old men have been arrested in Chester County, South Carolina, after authorities said they were involved in damaging two Flock license-plate cameras in the Edgemoor area.

The investigation began on August 15, when two Flock cameras unexpectedly went offline during the early morning hours. When deputies arrived to investigate, they reportedly discovered that the cameras had been sawed down and burned, leaving thousands of dollars in damage.

According to an affidavit, James Ryerson and Samuel Carlisle allegedly cut down the cameras and then struck them with a hammer until they caught fire. Blaze Fuller is accused of having a “tacit” agreement with the pair to assist with damaging the equipment.

Authorities estimated the damage to the two cameras at more than $5,000.

Fuller, Ryerson and Carlisle are each facing charges that include criminal conspiracy and malicious injury to personal property.

The arrests follow an investigation into the destruction of the cameras, which are used by law enforcement as part of a system designed to capture vehicle license plates and assist with investigations.
