Woman Dies After Allegedly Stabbing Two People Near Times Square and Advancing Toward NYPD Officers

A 49-year-old woman died after being shot by NYPD officers following an alleged knife attack that left one person dead and another injured in the Times Square area.

The suspect was identified as Pamela Cisneros, who allegedly attacked two people with two knives.

Two Victims Attacked

According to authorities, a 68-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen and transported to a hospital. He was later reported to be in stable condition.

A 32-year-old woman was also stabbed during the incident. She was taken to the hospital but later died from her injuries.

Police responded to the scene after the reported attacks and encountered Cisneros while she was allegedly armed with the knives.

Officers Open Fire

Authorities said the woman advanced toward NYPD officers while holding the knives.

Officers initially deployed a Taser in an attempt to stop her. However, police said she continued moving toward them, prompting officers to fire their weapons.

Cisneros was subsequently transported to a hospital, where she died.

Attack Not Considered Terrorism

Authorities have said the incident is not being investigated as an act of terrorism.

Instead, officials have characterized the stabbings as a random and unprovoked attack.
