“WE WERE A LITTLE TAKEN ABACK”: DAUGHTER REVEALS WHAT SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE SHOWED BEFORE NYC GRANDMA ALISA GOODS WAS FOUND
For Alisa Goods’ family, the surveillance footage may have answered one question — but it has opened many more.
The 63-year-old New York grandmother of five vanished while visiting Las Vegas on Aug. 8. Twelve days later, her body was discovered in an embankment near Harry Reid International Airport.
Now, her daughter, Kristen Goods, has revealed what the family was told about the final moments captured on surveillance video.
And what they saw was deeply unsettling.
According to Kristen, the footage showed her mother appearing disoriented and struggling in the intense Las Vegas heat.
She reportedly sat down near the embankment, threw the bag she was carrying over the edge and then climbed over herself.
She fell down the embankment.
But the footage did not end there.
Alisa was seen getting back up before collapsing again. Police said there was no further movement observed afterward, and her location could not be seen from the street.
For her daughter, the circumstances were difficult to understand.
Kristen said walking alone for miles in extreme desert heat was completely out of character for her mother — particularly because Alisa had recently undergone several leg surgeries that had affected her ability to walk.
“We were a little bit taken aback,” Kristen said while describing what the family had learned from the footage.
The discovery came after a frantic search that had already taken an unexpected turn.
Alisa had been staying with a longtime friend in Las Vegas. On Aug. 8, she left to travel to a nearby CVS and never returned.
After her disappearance, relatives began receiving strange messages from her phone.
The messages reportedly asked for money, gas and Bitcoin — something that immediately alarmed the family because Alisa did not drive.
Her relatives feared someone else could have been using her phone, and questions surrounding those messages added another layer of mystery to an already desperate search.
Then, on Aug. 20, a homeless man discovered a woman in an embankment near the airport and alerted parking attendants, who contacted police.
The woman was later identified as Alisa.
Her family was finally given an answer to where she had gone — but not to the question they wanted answered most.
What exactly happened to her?
The surveillance footage appears to show a fall and a subsequent collapse, but the exact cause of Alisa’s death has not been publicly established.
An autopsy remains pending, with a report expected to take several weeks.
Kristen has also said the family still has unanswered questions about the surveillance footage, Alisa’s phone and the events leading up to her disappearance.
For a family that spent days searching hospitals, jails and other locations for their missing loved one, the footage offers a heartbreaking glimpse into her final known moments.
But it does not provide every answer.
And until the medical examination and investigation are complete, Alisa Goods’ family is left trying to piece together a final chapter they never expected to have to understand.
