BABY DOLPHIN VIDEO SPARKS OUTRAGE — GROUP FILMED DRAGGING CALF FROM THE SEA BEFORE IT DIED

A disturbing video from a beach in Ceuta has sparked outrage after a group of people were filmed surrounding, carrying and allegedly striking a baby dolphin that had come close to shore.

The incident happened at Trampolín Beach, in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, on September 2.

Footage circulating online shows the young dolphin near the water as several people gather around it.

What happened next has triggered a wave of anger — and calls for those involved to be identified.

THE DOLPHIN WAS PULLED FROM THE WATER

According to reports, the dolphin calf was found close to the shoreline.

People wearing high-visibility clothing appeared to approach the animal, but the situation quickly became chaotic as several men surrounded it.

Video shows one man dragging the dolphin away from the water and later lifting it above his head while others gathered around.

At one point, people can be heard shouting for the animal to be put down.

Locals reportedly tried to intervene and eventually managed to take the dolphin away from the group and return it to the water.

But by then, reports said the calf had died.

CLAIMS OF A STICK ATTACK

The most disturbing allegation concerns what happened while the dolphin was being handled.

Local reports cited by The Sun and other outlets said that one person allegedly struck the animal on the head with a stick.

An online petition launched by Nadia Garcia Gomez claims the dolphin was violently struck and that the blow caused its death.

The petition is calling for those responsible to be identified and prosecuted under Spanish and European protections for dolphins.

However, the footage itself does not establish every detail surrounding the animal’s death, including whether the alleged blow was the direct cause.

That distinction could become important if authorities formally investigate the incident.

OUTRAGE GROWS

The images have prompted fierce criticism online, with campaigners describing the treatment of the dolphin as unacceptable.

Dolphins are protected marine mammals under Spanish and European law, and campaigners are demanding that authorities determine exactly what happened and identify everyone involved.
