For more than three months, 12-year-old Xavier Taylor’s name has been carried by prayers, baseball teams, families and strangers who refuse to give up on him.

On May 26, Xavier was struck in the back of the neck by a baseball while walking toward the dugout before a game in Maple Shade, New Jersey. He collapsed, suffered cardiac arrest and was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital.

Since then, his family has faced an unimaginable fight.

And the baseball community has refused to let them face it alone.

His No. 6 has become a symbol.

Teams have worn his number.

Communities have gathered to pray.

A Jeep parade was organized in his honor.

And supporters continue to rally around the Taylor family as Xavier remains at the center of their hopes.
