BABY S CASE TAKES A SHOCKING TURN — FOUR ADULTS FACE TRIAL OVER NEWBORN’S DEATH

A heartbreaking case involving a newborn baby in Sheffield is now heading toward a major trial, after four adults were charged in connection with the infant’s death.

The baby, identified in court only as Baby S, was born in Sheffield on August 30, 2026.

Just days later, the newborn became the center of a major police investigation that has now raised a series of unanswered questions about what happened inside a property in the Wincobank area.

FOUR ADULTS IN THE DOCK

The four adults facing charges are Andrea Skopova, 20; Peter Horvath Jr., 19; Peter Horvath Sr., 38; and Nina Horvathova, 37.

Prosecutors have charged all four with murder, as well as causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice.

All four have been remanded in custody and remain legally presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

According to evidence previously presented in court, Baby S was discovered inside an outbuilding at a property in Sheffield.

The prosecution told the court that the newborn was found wrapped in a towel inside a blue bag, on top of a washing machine.

The court also heard that the baby had suffered 33 wounds in 15 separate incidents.

Because of the disturbing nature of the allegations, investigators have urged the public not to speculate online while the criminal proceedings continue.

THE 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A fifth defendant is also involved in the case.

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Because she is under 18, her identity is legally protected and cannot be published.

She appeared in court alongside the four adults and was remanded in youth custody. Her alleged role will also be examined as the legal process continues.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST QUESTIONS: WHO WAS BABY S’S FATHER?

Another detail revealed during the proceedings has attracted significant attention.

The court heard that the identity of Baby S’s biological father is currently unknown.

Peter Horvath Jr., who was described as Andrea Skopova’s boyfriend, is not believed to be the baby’s father, according to the prosecution.

That detail has added another unanswered question to an already deeply disturbing case.

TRIAL SET FOR 2027

The four adults are expected to face trial at Sheffield Crown Court beginning April 12, 2027.

The trial is expected to last approximately six to seven weeks, during which prosecutors and defense lawyers will present evidence surrounding Baby S’s final days and the events that followed.

Two other women, aged 26 and 37, who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder remain on bail, according to Sky News.

For now, many of the most important questions remain unanswered.

What happened to Baby S after she was born?

What role, if any, did each defendant allegedly play?

And why was the newborn found hidden inside an outbuilding?

Those questions will ultimately have to be answered in court.

The trial is not expected to begin until April 2027 — but the investigation into Baby S has already become one of Sheffield’s most closely watched criminal cases.
