A SUDDEN BLIND-SIDE: WHEN A ROUTINE CHECKUP REVEALED A NEWBORN’S CRITICAL HEART CONDITION

When little Parker arrived via C-section in December, his parents welcomed him into the world with overwhelming joy, completely unaware of the health battle awaiting their newborn. To all outward appearances, he seemed healthy and perfectly formed. However, shortly after birth, a routine medical evaluation led to unexpected and devastating news. Doctors diagnosed Parker with two congenital heart conditions: coarctation of the aorta and a bicuspid aortic valve.

Medical specialists carefully explained the severity of the diagnosis to his family.
