This is the moment a toddler with one leg walked up the stairs for the first time.

Lucas Bobakov, who is 19 months old, was seen making his way up nine stairs despite his physical difference.

His mum Leeza Bobakov, jumped for joy when he arrived at the top and later called it a miracle.

Lucas’s dad Dennis Bobakov, who had been standing behind him, was also delighted.

But the little guy played it cool and simply looked down at his mum like it was no big deal.

‘I was so unbelievably happy and bursting with pride that Lucas just got straight to it and climbed the stairs entirely by himself,’ Mrs Bobakov, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US, said.

‘To see our baby, who only has one leg, doing things that other babies his age might find challenging is nothing short of a miracle. He’s a big strong boy.’

Lucas, who has a twin brother called Peter, climbed the steps at his cousin’s house as they don’t have any at his home.

He lost his leg after his mum’s placenta ruptured while she was pregnant, which led the brothers to experience twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.

Too much blood was transferred to Lucas, causing a clot in his leg and leading to an amputation when he was just three weeks old.

Meanwhile his twin Peter, who experienced a lack of blood supply, was born deaf.

Mrs Bobakov had been told her twins could possibly not survive when they were born via emergency C-section at 30 weeks.

She added: ‘Truly there is not a day that goes by that I’m not giving thanks to God that my boys are alive. I don’t take a single day for granted.

‘They are my survivors, my little bionic boys.’

Lucas has never let having just one leg get in the way after starting to crawl at six months and learning to walk with a prosthetic leg when he was one.
