FIRST PICTURES OF “DEEPLY MISSED” FATHER AND DAUGHTER KILLED IN DEVASTATING WORKPLACE INCIDENT

The first pictures have emerged of a father and daughter who tragically lost their lives in the same workplace incident in Ireland.

Mihai Chinez, 49, and his daughter Denisa Mihaela Chinez, 24, both from Banagher, County Offaly, died at Banagher Precast Concrete shortly before midday on September 28.

The father and daughter, originally from Romania, had lived in the Offaly community for years and worked at the concrete plant.

Their sudden deaths have left their family, friends and colleagues devastated.

Mihai and Denisa were described in a funeral notice as being deeply missed by their family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues.

Mihai’s wife and Denisa’s mother, Angela, is now mourning the loss of both her husband and daughter.

Denisa’s sister, Lavinia Alexandra, and her fiancé, Liviu Blaj, are also among those left grieving.

The family is now preparing to say goodbye to the pair together.

Their joint funeral arrangements have been announced, with a gathering at Banagher Community Centre followed by a funeral Mass at St Rynagh’s Church in Banagher.

TRAGEDY AT THE CONCRETE PLANT

Emergency services were called to Banagher Precast Concrete at approximately 11:40 a.m. following reports of a serious incident.

Mihai and Denisa were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Their bodies were subsequently taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, where post-mortem examinations were carried out.

Reports indicate that the pair had been working together preparing a concrete mould when the incident occurred.

However, the precise circumstances remain under investigation.

Authorities have not yet released a full account of what happened inside the plant.

Banagher Precast Concrete said the incident had caused profound shock throughout the organisation.

The company described the deaths as an “unprecedented” and devastating tragedy for everyone connected with the business.

Its board, management and employees expressed their condolences to the Chinez family and said their immediate priority was supporting those affected.

The company also thanked the emergency services and others who responded to the incident.

It said it would cooperate fully with the relevant statutory bodies as investigations continue.

A COMMUNITY IN MOURNING

Mihai and Denisa had built their lives in Banagher after moving from Romania.

Their deaths have left not only their relatives but also their wider local community struggling to comprehend the tragedy.

For the family, the loss is particularly devastating: a wife has lost her husband, a mother has lost her daughter, and a sister has lost her sibling — all in the same sudden incident.

As preparations are made for their joint funeral, those who knew Mihai and Denisa are now remembering them as members of a family and community whose lives were cut short without warning.

The investigation into the circumstances of the workplace incident remains ongoing.

For now, their loved ones are left to mourn a father and daughter who went to work together — and never came home.
