BEYOND DIFFERENCE: THE REMARKABLE STORY OF A BOY REVERED AS GANESHA

When Pranshu was born in Punjab, India, with an unusually large forehead, narrow eyes, and physical difficulties, his family worried about how society would treat him. His father, Kamlesh, sought medical advice early on, but doctors were unable to provide a clear diagnosis or treatment.

As Pranshu grew, something unexpected occurred. Villagers near Jalandhar noticed that his facial features bore a striking resemblance to Lord Ganesha, the revered Hindu deity associated with wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. Rather than facing isolation, the boy began receiving deep reverence from the local community.

By 2016, when Pranshu was six years old, crowds would gather near a local place of worship every Thursday to seek his blessing. His father believed in his son’s divine connection, and many visitors claimed their wishes came true after meeting him. Pranshu embraced the attention, expressing happiness when called “Ganesha Ji.” At school, instead of being mocked, he was treated with kindness by classmates and shown unique respect by teachers.

Despite his reverence, Pranshu’s daily life presented genuine physical and financial struggles. His legs made walking difficult, and his family lived with limited resources. An older brother shared a similar physical condition, though with fewer mobility challenges. Yet, the community’s response transformed Pranshu’s life experience. A condition that could have made him a target for ridicule instead made him a symbol of blessing.

Pranshu grew up knowing that his distinct features were not something to be ashamed of. His story shows how a community’s acceptance can profoundly shape a child’s self-worth and perception of the world.
