THE STORY OF BABY OWEN: FACING ACALVARIA WITH COURAGE
Before he was even born, baby Owen was diagnosed with acalvaria—an extremely rare condition characterized by the incomplete development of the skull, particularly the upper portion that protects the brain.

During a routine 24-week scan, doctors noticed significant abnormalities and grew concerned that his brain might not be adequately protected. Recognizing the severity of the diagnosis, medical specialists gently warned his parents, Tom and Jessica, that navigating the remainder of the pregnancy and bringing Owen into the world would be an extraordinarily difficult journey. They were advised that their time together as a family could be far shorter than any parent could ever anticipate or imagine.

Despite the daunting prognosis and profound uncertainty, Tom and Jessica chose to face each step of the journey with love, hope, and resilience, treasuring every moment they had with their baby boy.
