HE WAS ONLY SIX — BUT HARRISON’S FAMILY SAY HIS PERSONALITY COULD LIGHT UP A ROOM
The six-year-old was remembered as a “cheeky chappy” who was loved more deeply than words could express, as his devastated family face an unimaginable goodbye.
Harrison Glynne Jones was only six years old, but the memories his family have shared already paint a picture of a little boy who brought enormous energy, laughter and personality into the lives of those around him.
Harrison, from Llanfairfechan in Conwy, North Wales, died following a collision involving a white Ford Transit Tipper on Mill Road at around 5pm on Thursday, October 1.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but Harrison was pronounced dead there.
His family are now facing the devastating task of saying goodbye to a child they described as a “cheeky chappy, full of character with a personality that could light up a room.”
The tribute was shared through a fundraising appeal established to support Harrison’s parents, Kayleigh and Daryl, and his sisters, Sienna and Eira.
The family said their world had been “changed forever” by the loss.
“There are no words that can truly describe the heartbreak and devastation” being experienced by Harrison’s parents, sisters and wider family, the fundraising message said.
A CHILD REMEMBERED FOR HIS PERSONALITY
Those closest to Harrison want him to be remembered for much more than the circumstances of the collision.
His family described him as a bright, lively child whose personality could fill a room — a little boy who was loved “more deeply than words could ever express.”
The words have resonated throughout the Llanfairfechan community, where tributes including flowers and teddy bears have been left near the scene.
The fundraising appeal was created to help Harrison’s family with funeral and memorial costs, as well as everyday expenses while his parents take time away from work to grieve.
Within days, the appeal had received hundreds of donations and surpassed its original target. By October 4, more than £23,000 had been raised as people from the community and beyond rallied around the family.
POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE
North Wales Police said the collision happened on Mill Road, with the surrounding Pen y Bryn Road area also forming part of the investigation.
A 39-year-old local man who was driving the van was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Tim Evans, of the North Wales Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said officers were continuing to establish exactly what happened.
Police have appealed to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision to come forward.
They are particularly seeking CCTV, doorbell-camera and dashcam footage that could assist the investigation.
Officers have also urged members of the public not to speculate about the circumstances or share material online while the investigation remains ongoing.
“FOREVER LOVED, FOREVER MISSED, FOREVER SIX”
For Harrison’s family, the investigation is only one part of an overwhelming period of grief.
Their fundraising appeal ends with a simple message that captures the depth of the loss:
“Forever loved, forever missed, forever 6.”
Across Llanfairfechan, flowers and soft toys have been placed in memory of the six-year-old.
A local football club also held a minute’s silence in his memory, reflecting the wider community’s response to the tragedy.
Harrison’s story has now travelled far beyond the small Welsh community where he grew up.
But for the people who loved him, he is not simply a name connected to a heartbreaking collision.
He was a son.
A brother.
A little boy with a huge personality.
And, in the words of his family, someone who was loved more deeply than words could ever express.
