A SURPRISE FOURTH BABY: KENYAN MOTHER EXPECTING TRIPLETS GIVES BIRTH TO QUADRUPLETS

Christine Mulongo, a 25-year-old mother from Kwale County, Kenya, experienced the ultimate surprise when she gave birth to quadruplets instead of the triplets doctors had initially predicted. Already raising three children, Christine had carefully prepared throughout her pregnancy for three new additions. However, her journey took an unexpected turn when she went into premature labor roughly one month before her expected due date and was rushed to the Sisters of St. Joseph Catholic Hospital.

During delivery, Christine safely welcomed her first three babies and believed her labor was complete. To her complete shock, her midwife instructed her to feel her stomach, revealing that a fourth baby was still waiting to be born. The proud mother successfully delivered two boys and two girls, named Mary, Magdalene, Joseph, and James. Because of their premature arrival, the babies weighed 1.3kg, 1.6kg, 900g, and 1.1kg at birth, requiring immediate transfer to Msambweni Referral Hospital for specialized medical monitoring and care.

This extraordinary birth brings Christine’s total count of children to seven at just 25 years old. Although welcoming four newborns alongside her three older children presents significant daily demands, Christine expressed profound joy and gratitude for her expanding family. What began as an ordinary hospital visit for a triplet delivery quickly transformed into a remarkable and unforgettable milestone, turning a routine birth plan into a heartwarming story of unexpected blessing.
