THE SECRET INSIDE THE ENVELOPE

Daniel reached the farmhouse porch when he suddenly heard footsteps behind him.

He turned.

The bride was walking toward him, holding the envelope tightly against her chest. Her wedding dress dragged across the gravel, but she didn’t seem to care.

“Daniel, before you leave, you need to read this.”

He stared at the envelope.

For the first time that morning, uncertainty crossed his face.

“Where did you get that?”

She swallowed hard.

“Your father left it for you. I found it hidden inside the old bedroom.”

Daniel slowly reached for the letter.

As he unfolded it, his expression changed.

The letter revealed that the farmhouse had never belonged to his family. Ten years earlier, his father had secretly transferred ownership to someone else to protect a young woman from losing everything.

And that woman was standing right in front of him.

Daniel looked at her in disbelief.

She wiped away a tear and whispered:

“Now you understand why I came back.”

He looked toward the house, then at the woman he had just abandoned.

Suddenly, the wedding he had walked away from was no longer the biggest secret in his life.
