AN ENTIRE FAMILY LOST IN FLORIDA PLANE CRASH: TWO YOUNG CHILDREN, AGED 4 AND 2, AMONG NINE VICTIMS
Technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp and their young children were traveling from Texas to the Bahamas when their private jet crashed in South Florida. The family never reached its destination.
A family vacation that should have brought happiness and precious memories ended in unimaginable tragedy when a private jet crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people aboard.
Among the victims were technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, 45, his wife, Helen Sharp, and their two young children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, just 2 years old.
The family had departed Austin, Texas, aboard a Learjet 60 bound for North Eleuthera in the Bahamas. They were joined by their caregiver, Anita Maria Cetina, as well as two other passengers and two crew members.
None of the nine people aboard survived.
The crash happened around 12:50 p.m. on November 1, 2026, near Greenacres in Palm Beach County. The aircraft came down in a residential area, leaving a large impact site and a field of debris.
“THE LIGHT OF THEIR LIVES”
In a joint statement, the victims’ families confirmed that Adam Robinson, Helen Sharp, their children Emma and Charlie, Rachael Reed, Charmi Fehr and Anita Maria Cetina were among those killed.
The statement described Adam and Helen as devoted parents and their children as “the light of their lives.”
For those who knew the couple, the loss was not simply that of two adults and their children. It was the loss of a young family whose future had been filled with plans, hopes and possibilities.
Anita Maria Cetina, who helped care for Emma and Charlie, was also remembered with deep affection.
The family said Anita had cared for the children with tenderness and devotion and had become much more than a caregiver — she was truly part of the family.
Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr were also among the seven passengers who lost their lives.
The two pilots were killed as well. The co-pilot was identified by her family as 20-year-old Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras. The pilot was identified in subsequent reporting as Jeff Gregory.
A FLIGHT THAT NEVER REACHED THE BAHAMAS
The Learjet 60 had taken off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas, heading toward North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas.
According to preliminary information presented by the National Transportation Safety Board, the crew reported encountering light icing and moderate turbulence while flying at approximately 35,000 feet.
The situation deteriorated rapidly.
The crew reported problems with the aircraft’s altitude and later declared an emergency as the jet began descending at an alarming rate.
Air traffic control recordings captured the increasingly urgent communications before contact was lost.
The aircraft crashed at approximately 12:51 p.m., killing everyone aboard.
INVESTIGATORS EXAMINE THE FINAL MOMENTS
The NTSB has launched an investigation into the crash and is examining weather conditions, aircraft systems, the flight crew’s actions and the wreckage.
During an update on November 2, investigators said they had found indications that parts of the aircraft may have separated before impact.
Icing and turbulence are among the factors being examined, but investigators have not determined what caused the aircraft to lose control or whether weather conditions were ultimately responsible.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have cautioned against drawing conclusions before the evidence has been fully reviewed.
NINE LIVES, NINE STORIES, ONE DEVASTATING LOSS
Behind the headlines are nine people who had families, friendships and lives beyond the final moments of the flight.
For Adam and Helen’s loved ones, the loss of two parents and their two small children is especially devastating. Emma was only four. Charlie had barely reached his second birthday.
A journey that was meant to take them toward a family destination in the Bahamas instead became a tragedy that has left their loved ones grieving and searching for answers.
The families of those aboard have expressed their gratitude to first responders and investigators while asking for privacy as they mourn.
As the investigation continues, the names and stories of all nine victims deserve to be remembered — not only as passengers aboard a plane, but as people deeply loved by those waiting for them at home.
May their families and friends find strength in the days ahead.
